You're the One that I Want

I got chills, they're multiplyin', and I'm losin' control
Cause the power you're supplyin', it's electrifyin'

You better shape up, cause I need a man,
and my heart is set on you
You better shape up, you better understand,
to my heart I must be true
Nothing left, nothing left for me to do

Chorus:
You're the one that I want
(you are the one I want), ooh ooh ooh, honey
The one that I want (you are the one I want),
ooh ooh ooh, honey
The one that I want (you are the one I want),
ooh ooh ooh, honey
The one I need (the one I need),
oh yes indeed (yes indeed)

If you're filled with affection,
You're too shy to convey
Meditate my direction, feel your way

I better shape up,
cause you need a man
I need a man,
Who can keep me satisfied
I better shape up, if I'm gonna prove
You better prove, that my fate is justified
Are you sure?
Yes I'm sure down deep inside

This is one of my favorite songs in Grease. Actually to be honest, i love ALL the songs in grease! A lot of people can definitely relate to this song. What I love about this song is how it gives us the fun vibe. The girl in the song tells the guy that he's the one that she wants. Some guys find it hard to show their true feelings for someone they like or love. So in this song, the girl's telling the guy, that if he's too shy to show her how he feels, he should medidate in her direction. The song shows us the what women and men feel during these circumstances. The funny thing about this song is how the girl portrays as the "guy" in the song, since she's the one who's telling the guy that she likes him. Men should be MEN. The girl also wants the guy to prove his love for her and to prove that he's the one for her. The songs has a really awesome message. :)

The Persuit Of Happyness

This is my favorite Will Smith movie of all time. The story is about a man named Chris Gardner who experiences life's struggles, including sleeping in the restroom and staying in ahomeless shelter with his son. This story is surprisingly a true story. And it shows the man's love for his son that made him successful and him being smart. I dont wanna spoil those who havent watched this movie because I think you guys should see it for yourself. I have some guy friends who watched this movie and they cried. It's very inspiring and the actors including Will Smith and his little cute son Jayden did a really good job in acting. It's a very touching story because we see how much Chris loves his son and he does his best to have a good life. Despite them being poor, they still managed to be happy together and that's the true persuit of happyness(happiness). Although I really wanna tell the ending, I choose not to. You have to watch it for yourself! ;)

I Still Believe

Somehow i know i will find a way to a brighter day in the sun
somewhere i know that he waits for me
someday soon he'll see I'm the one

I wont give up on this feeling
and nothing could keep me away

Cause i still believe in Destiny
That you and I were meant to be.
I still wish on the stars as they fall from above
Cause i still believe, believe in love

I know whats real can not be denied
All though it may hide for a awhile..
With just one touch love can calm your fears
Turning all your tears into smiles

It's such a wondrous feeling
I know that my heart can't be wrong

Cause i still believe in destiny
That you and I were meant to be
I still wish on the stars as they fall from above..
Cause i still believe.. believe in love

Love can make miracles change everything
lift you from the darkness and make your heart sing
Love is a river when you fall it's the greatest power of all

Oh, i still believe in destiny
That you and i were meant to be
I still wish on the stars as they fall from above...
Cause i still believe.. believe in love
Yes i still believe.. Believe in love

I still believe in love
I still believe...believe in love
I still believe...believe in love

I'm a huge Hayden Panettiere fan, even though i know that a lot of people dislike her. So when I heard that Hayden sang a song for a disney flick....Cinderella 3! surprise :D I downloaded it on my computer. The song is really nice and im quite impressed with Hayden because she can sing. The song is about someone who believes in destiny and that even in hardships and trials, wherever they go, in the end it will still be her and the one she loves. The song also says that that guy will later find that she is the one because she believes that they were meant to be. She's not afraid to believe. The video is really nice. You might laugh since it shows scenes from Cinderella 3. But who doesnt love fairytales? i love them! i love how the prince fights for his love. and it shows the exact same thing in cinderella 3.

HEROES

I love this show so much! What I like about Heroes is the twists and turns. The story is about ordinary men who later discover that they have special abilities. With these special abilities they discover deeper meanings and they face reality dealing with their powers. I dont wanna spoil you guys, you should watch it yourself ;) It will keep you on the edge of your seat and it's highly addictive. You wouldnt wanna stop watching it becaus it's really awesome and you will be hooked! It's also unpredictable and different from other television shows that i watched before. there's action, comedy, drama and some romance in the show which is cool. you guys should definitely watch this.

GREASE

BROADWAY

FILM

I have to say this is one of the best musicals i've ever seen in my entire life! it's rather different from other musicals. the story is about the 1950's era and the so called "greasers". The plot is really interesting and fun because a lot of people especially the teens can relate to it. It has this sense of humor in it as well and the songs are amazing. Hopelessly Devoted To You, Those Magic Changes, Summer Night and We Go Together are my favorites! There's a difference between the broadway and the film version but both of the performers did really well. And guess what? We'll be playing Grease in our school's musical! woot! Grease is definitely a classic and has become a household name. I think everyone should watch Grease because it also has a moral lesson. Ms. Clarete told us a while ago that every character in the story symbolizes something. Like Rizzo is who she is because of her past, or maybe Danny Zuko as well. Everyone has their own story and that's what makes them who they are right now.

Lea Salonga: A woman that the Filipinos should be Proud of :)

Newsflash!

Lea Salonga who played Eponine in Les Miserables, will now play Fantine, the woman who is Cosette's mother!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Lea Salonga is a Filipina that we should all be proud of. Her beautiful outstanding voice captured the whole world especially when she belted out famous tunes from Les Miserable playing Eponine, being the singing voice of Jasmine in the song "A Whole New World" and who couldnt forget her being the voice of Fa Nulan in the hit Disney movie "Mulan".

I have always loved Lea Salonga. I first discovered her when my mom made us watch with them the hit musical "Miss Saigon". I think I was 9 yrs. old back then and I can still remember. Lea Salonga has always been my idol. Imagine, on her first ever musical, she already got the lead role! She is the ONLY Filipino to ever win a Toni Award, and it was the first time in history that an Asian played Eponine in the hit Broadway "Les Miserables". Lea Salonga got great reviews from the critiques, that when Les Mis had it's 10th anniversary, they chose Lea Salonga to sing On My Own and became part of the "Dream Cast". She's the only Filipino ever to sing in the Academy Awards. She already sang in the white house two times. People are captured by her BEAUTIFUL voice. What i've heard from my mom was she was very down-to-earth. I hope that a lot of people would appreciate her more! :D

FIRST OF SUMMER by Urbandub

Parked car
This night sky
Makes city lights shine like diamonds
our song plays on the radio.

We’re living it up
Make this night ours
We own the world
I wish this lasts forever
Alone with you tonight
Further in you feels so right.

I’m giving it up and just a little more
This heartfelt leap I surrender
With arms raised tonight.

Drive me away
cuz the night just feels right
take me away with you tonight
anywhere with you.

Our song plays on...
Parked car, night sky
Alone with you tonight...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Okay, I know this song is specially made for of course, summer. But c'mon guys! Only 2 months more and look what we have....yes. SUMMER. I've always loved this song, since last year. I heard this song playing in my sister's laptop inside the resort where we were staying in during our Boracay escapade :D As soon as I heard it, I immediately fell in love with it. The tune of the song was really nice! It's different form other summer related songs, it was like summer in Manila. What I also love about the song is it's lyrics.

The song is about being with someone and wishing that what you will have with them, will last forever. There's a thing called "Summer Romance" and these are usually called flings. So prolly in the song, the person who wrote this prolly wants to be with that person and make every moment something great! No boundaries, just the two of them having the time of their lives, knowing that they're with the one they love.

:)

It's The End of The World: Grey's Anatomy

The video you're going to watch is not the exact video that I watched, but it's also the same :)

It's the End of The World is a very special episode of Grey's Anatomy. It was shown right after the Saturday Superbowl. This episode definitely took me to the edge of my seat. It was paced with action, drama, and a little bit of comedy. the perfect combination for a perfect episode! The plot was verrryyy creative! imagine someone being shot with a bazooka in that body and there's a big chance that it's going to explode, the worst part is that you're the one, holding the bazooka, inside a man's chest! That's what meredith experienced in the episode. It was verryyy gut wrenching since you\ll never know what might happen to her. The epidode was full of excitement but it also showed a lot of drama, especially when Meredith was giving her "last words". i won't tell you the ending. You prolly know me already. I dont spoil people ;)

Heart's Delight

Before i give you my insights, here's a plot summary from the publisher.

From the Publisher

Before Heart's Delight, I was a boy, he thinks.

Before Heart's Delight, I was a child

When he first saw Ann-Katrin on the bus, he was mesmerized, captivated, consumed.

But that was before.

Now he sits alone in his room, a sixteen-year-old boy, waiting for her to call. Wishing for her to tell him it was real. It was as perfect as he imagined.

But the phone sits silently.

The boy continues to wait, systematically destroying all of the objects from their short-lived relationship. He rips up the bus pass from their first meeting.

The phone is quiet.

He throws the pot of lemon balm she gave him over the edge of the balcony.

No phone call.

He tosses the black Frisbee and the Swiss Army knife over too.

Still the phone stays silent.

As he plays their relationship over in his mind like a movie, he wonders:

What if his heart's delight doesn't call? Will life be worth living then?

Still dont get? Well, you have to read it first, i dont like spoiling people =p

I started reading this book yesterday. Yes, yesterday, I finished reading it for 2 and a half hours I suppose. Talk about being a fast reader, lol, just kidding, but yeah it's true ;)

The book was definitely love at first sight. From the beginning of the novel, I couldn't get my hands off of them. The first thing I loved from the story was that the author really wanted his readers to "be" on the location where the story is set, and that was what I felt. Another thing I love about this novel is how he wrote every chapter by using the objects like a bus pass, grammar book, a pack of condoms(yes, a pack of condoms) to a pot of Heart's Delight(that's the name of the plant!) and everything else. That was very creative for him to write the novel in that kind of style.

I love the way "He", the lead in the story gets rid of the things connected to his past romance with Ann Katrin. It's a good read for those who seem to not know how to move on, especially after a break up. The writing style is truly amazing for we see the past and the present of each chapter like a rythm.

I can definitely relate to this book. Sometimes I see myself as "Heart's Delight". There was a time that I made someone feel like he has an opportunity or chance to be with me but in the end I told that someone that I like him as a friend. Another way to relate this story to my life is my own "Heart's Delight". Who also made me feel that way. It was a very sad moment to be honest. The process of letting go was a hard step. I already let go before reading this book, but still there are some queston that havent been answered. But after reading this novel, letting go was a lot easier to do. After reading it for the first time it made its way to the top of my list! :)

VERONICA MARS

My mother bought this DVD for me a few months ago, and it took me 2 months to finally decide and watch it. Since it was Christmas break and i had nothing to do in the house, I began watching this show. Let me give you a brief synopsis about the t.v. show before i proceed on my insights.

Veronica Mars' life turns upside down when her best friend, Lily Kane, daughter of a software billionare, gets murdered in the Kane's residence. Now, Veronica's father, Keith Mars, begins to accuse Mr. Kane for killing his own daughter which leads him to losing his job. Veronica also loses her "identity" being one of the popular girls in Neptune High. Together with her father, Veronica embarks on a journey to solve the mystery behind her best friend's death and also the mysteries of her fellow schoolmtes who also asks her for help.

I have to say, this is one of my favorite t.v. series of all time. Veronica Mars is definitely my heroine! What i like about her is that she was willing to risk her social life because she chose to be with her dad. She is also very brave and is really smart. Every episode has it's own twists and turns, you cant stop watching the show. What would a perfect t.v. show be without a famous love triangle between Logan, Veronica and Duncan? Another thing i love about Veronica Mars is that in each episode, we learn valuable lessons about friendship, family and of course love. I recommend this t.v. series to everyone who loves action/comedy/romance stories and who loves thrills and excitements when watching shows.

An Extremely Goofy Movie a.k. a. My Summary

We gotta get it right back to where we started from.... :>

While studying for Chem and Pinoi, my little sister turned the television on and the Extremely Goofy Movie appeared on our tv screen. i have always loved all goofy movies! Goofy and Max are definitely my favorite Mickey Mouse and Friends characters! father and son bonding! it's like me and you! lol! Since my medialog is almost done with its first semester(congatulations to me!, i want to thank you my avid readers for having the patience to read my entries :p lol. So, I have again realized that media definitely shapes our lives. I have learned to love Indie movies(independent films)becasue they're really diff. from international or wide screen films. I've learned to appreciate what people do in order for us to be able to think positively and be aware of what's happening to our world today. So don't be sad, since I'm going to take a break 8-) sem break here i come!!!

I forst watched this commercial about 3 yrs. ago. I was n my humbe abode watching television then suddenly this wonderful commercial appeared on screen. At first, I thought it was a movie trailer. being a Nicole Kidman fan that I am, I fell in love with the commercial. turns out it was a campaign for Chanel! The commercial gave me the goosebumps because it was brilliantly made. It's very dramatic and very Parisian. Nicole Kidman looked amazing! The outfits were gorgeous as well, Nicole is the epitome of Chanel! This is prolly one of my fave commercials since I love fashion as well :)

The Evolution of Beauty

I was browsing through Youtube when I saw this video. I immediately clicked to watch it. I was really amazed! So there's this "ordinary" girl, and she is being made up for a photoshoot. it practically took a long time. then they started to make edits and stuff. What struck me the most was that the video turned out to be a campaign for Real beauty. Women think that they should look beautiful like the women they see in advertisements. In the end..the video says " No wonder our perception of beauty is distorted..." Every girl deserves to be beautiful the way she is!
