UGLIES

Tally is about to turn sixteen, and she can't wait. Not for her license -- for turning pretty. In Tally's world, your sixteenth birthday brings an operation that turns you from a repellent ugly into a stunningly attractive pretty and catapults you into a high-tech paradise where your only job is to have a really great time. In just a few weeks Tally will be there.

But Tally's new friend Shay isn't sure she wants to be pretty. She'd rather risk life on the outside. When Shay runs away, Tally learns about a whole new side of the pretty world -- and it isn't very pretty. The authorities offer Tally the worst choice she can imagine: find her friend and turn her in, or never turn pretty at all. The choice Tally makes changes her world forever.

When I was browsing through the Barnes and Noble website, I found this book and the plot really caught my attention. I headed to Fully Booked because you can find all the hard-to-find books there. If you want to read this book, you should have a wide imagination because it's really futuristic. Talk about interface rings, flying parachutes, SpagBols(spaghetti bolognese) and tons of unknown stuff. The book tells us that not all people who are beautiful are exactly perfect. They're not "all that". The book has tons of revelations, it will keep you reading more and more. It also tells us that being beautiful isn't about being happy. Being happy is having adventures, being with your friends and of course loving and being contented with yourself. In the book, the Pretties keep on partying but still they lack adventure, that's why Tally's friend Shay doesnt want to pe a Pretty at all. I recommend this book to everyone especially those who are dealing with peer pressure and insecurities. When you finish reading the book, dont forget to read the next installation Pretties :)
