Lea Salonga is a Filipina that we should all be proud of. Her beautiful outstanding voice captured the whole world especially when she belted out famous tunes from Les Miserable playing Eponine, being the singing voice of Jasmine in the song "A Whole New World" and who couldnt forget her being the voice of Fa Nulan in the hit Disney movie "Mulan".
I have always loved Lea Salonga. I first discovered her when my mom made us watch with them the hit musical "Miss Saigon". I think I was 9 yrs. old back then and I can still remember. Lea Salonga has always been my idol. Imagine, on her first ever musical, she already got the lead role! She is the ONLY Filipino to ever win a Toni Award, and it was the first time in history that an Asian played Eponine in the hit Broadway "Les Miserables". Lea Salonga got great reviews from the critiques, that when Les Mis had it's 10th anniversary, they chose Lea Salonga to sing On My Own and became part of the "Dream Cast". She's the only Filipino ever to sing in the Academy Awards. She already sang in the white house two times. People are captured by her BEAUTIFUL voice. What i've heard from my mom was she was very down-to-earth. I hope that a lot of people would appreciate her more! :D
